Gekko House Frankfurt
Project Overview
Gekko House Frankfurt isn’t just a hotel — it’s a lived-in snapshot of the city’s split personality: polished and punk, structured and street-smart. Tucked into the Gallus district and part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, it pulses with contradictions. Velvet meets concrete. Clean lines flirt with graffiti. You might catch BBQ smoke wafting up to skyline views, or hear rock riffs echo through minimalist corridors. It’s urban hospitality turned inside out — gritty, warm, unapologetically alive.
My Role
As lead designer, I developed a bold visual identity grounded in the idea of ordered chaos. A clean, Swiss-inspired grid was deliberately disrupted with scrawled notes, vandalised typography, and cheeky “bad” quotes lifted from pop culture. This visual tension captured Frankfurt’s dual character — efficient, yet full of edge. I translated the concept across touchpoints: from print and signage to tone of voice and layered visual moments throughout the hotel. The result isn’t just branding — it’s attitude. A wink to the guest that behind the order, there’s always a bit of beautiful mess. Because #lifeiscrazy.
